Heres the Start of a new project with the Talented Jonathan Mannion. His Career portfolio contains some of the most iconic album and magazine covers in history. Im honored to share a collab series with him using some of these historic images to create a fresh, new body of work.
Jonathan let me pick from his entire Catalog for this project. to work on top of his Photos with Black ink and a Tattoo machine.
The photo below, JM's photo is on the left, my ink painting is painted on the photo on the right.
I actually tattooed onto the photo paper without ink, which is how the linear work on the photo is produced.
heres the line drawing to the tattooed portrait above.
Im honored that Frank 151 felt i was worthy enough to be a part of their new "Leaders" Book.
I was happy to be a part of the interview/photo sessions. The interview was done by my good friend Nick Ace and the Portrait was shot by none other than the Legend, Jonathan Mannion. They made a short video of the interview as well and a printed version in the book.
much love to Frank151 for putting me in their book.
Ive been a collector of Alex's work for the last 8-9 years. Consisitantly influenced by his work from the time i met him and began tattooing him. What started as trading tattoos for Paintings, Over the course of the time we've became very close friends, exchanging alot of Ideas and artwork along the way.
Im Very happy and Honored to be working on a new body of work with Alex right now. We are planning for a Split exhibition of some kind. Its still in earliest stages of creation.
Ill post process pics along the way.
